news - past due date
Thu 9th May 2002, 6.30am
It looks like contractions have started now; neither of us got much
sleep last night. They're not that regular as yet, varying from 5 to
10 minutes apart, lasting around 30 to 45 seconds. The midwife was due
to visit at 11.30am today anyway - we may still be here, but I suspect
at some point today we'll go back into the Rosie. Some good news at
last!
Mon 6th May 2002:
The latest news is that Caroline had slightly high blood pressure
on Sunday (the 5th) so went into hospital to be checked over. After
some monitoring and more checks nothing more wrong was found, but
she was kept in overnight just in case. This morning the blood
pressure was still a little high, but not high enough for them to
want to do anything, so she's been let home. It will be checked
again this week a couple of times, and if there is no progress by
friday she'll be induced then. So look out for more news sometime
between now and friday...
Wed 1st May 2002:
We're now over the due date, with no real progress at the moment, so it's
a case of hanging around and waiting. This site will be updated once
we know any more!
